My Favorite Eyeshadow Brushes

Do you have things in your life that make you feel inferior? I’m trying to think of how to phrase myself… kinda like how in high school all the cool kids had the Abercrombie jeans and yours were thrifted? That’s how YouTube makes me feel sometimes.
It may sound stupid to some, but it was really hard for me to do this video. When I started my channel, I did it as a very, very shy person. I’ve had social anxiety for as long as I can remember and to protect myself I’ve done my best to float through life under the radar. Before YouTube I didn’t feel cool enough, thin enough, pretty enough, rich enough to have an opinion let alone share it alongside all of these “perfect” women and men in the beauty community on YouTube.
Besides, who is going to watch makeup videos from someone who applies foundation with their fingers, boycotts the mainstream brands like Loreal and Maybelline, doesn’t have Alex 9 drawers, can’t apply false lashes or line their lips and who is happy using eyeshadow brushes from a Boxycharm subscription?
But YouTube has changed me. YOU have changed me with your kindness and your acceptance and your willingness to support me and my content. And you don’t even know it.
My eyeshadow brushes are not “cool”. They aren’t from Sigma, Morphe or Hakuhodo and they probably never will be. But they are GOOD and they work for me and I love them! So why do I feel so insecure about sharing that my FAVORITE brushes are dirt-cheap or freebies?
Because I need to get over it, that’s why. I feel like society puts these “quality” standards on us that we feed into by caring… or at the very least by not being proud of what we are/where we are at/what we have.
You don’t have to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on jeans/brushes/makeup/a fancy house/a car/eating out/etc. etc. to enjoy what you have or where you are in life. Your things do not define you. And nice things don’t have to be expensive! And I refuse to feed into the BS of feeling subpar. So I’m posting this damn video if the fear kills me. And if there is ANYTHING in your life that you’ve been letting hold you back from LOVING you and where are and what you have I encourage you to fight it. Because you are worthy of love, respect and kindness. And you are perfect just the way you are.
